Yo soy

Yo soy not a Spanish speaker. I tried to make the best of what is left of my maternity and started hunting for a Spanish instructor. Not finding anyone satisfactory in classifieds, I had someone post an ad for me in the UT foreign language mailing list. I met a very promising woman from Mexico City and went with excitement to my first class.

I learned to conjugate 2 forms of the verb "To Be". Yo soy Meera.

I also learned that my teacher was an indoor smoker, the drive to her place was painful and the end of class coincided with the start of rush hour traffic on all routes from her place to mine.

That was my short foray into a private class. Perhaps I'll find a community college course, or an instructor who can come home, or at the very least some CDs to help me out. Little technicalities shouldn't come in the way of my love for learning languages!
