Weeknights in Wimberley

Since MrM and I are both still on leave, we decided to take a midweek break and go to Wimberley, a little town in Texas Hill Country, with RoRo. We found a little cottage online which boasted of river access and a little kitchenette. Not only that, it was named "Bandit's Hideaway" after their previous dog Bandit. They had me at "dog". Bandit has passed on but we got to meet their current dog Rosie.

Wimberley is barely an hour from home. Our cottage was, as promised, a property with direct access to the Blanco river. We were just downstream from a low water crossing dam, which meant the water was very shallow (1 ft) and the perfect temperature to walk or sit in. They had a swing by the waterfront, hanging off old trees. The cottage itself was less than perfect with a bit of a gloomy interior, but the rest of our trip was as we had hoped.

We tried out 3 (out of 3?) restaurants in Wimberley. Thumbs up to Inoz Brew & Chew and to Marco's Italian restaurant. "Meh" to Cypress Creek Cafe unless you like soggy shrimp. Inoz had a great patio facing Cypress Creek (the creek, not the cafe). Here's a pic of the "Forest Faces" they had on their trees:

We spent a majority of our time sitting on the swing by the river front on our rental property.

We took tons of pictures of RoRo, many of which are in my previous post RoRo's photo shoot in Wimberley.

In the evenings we sat on our patio drinking this wine:

while RoRo hung out on the patio table with us.
