Ro's latest trick, and a 20 month update

Ro has a new trick! He can get into his pack and play! He scrambles up the side, throws a leg over, and somersaults himself in. It is scary to watch but he seems to arrive with his neck intact.

Poor guy hasn't managed to get out though. This is good because the drop to the ground is further than the drop into the pack and play. Here he is, hanging off the edge and looking worried about his exit strategy

Apart from this, he has developed more monkey habits. He can climb up our bar-height high chairs. When he has trouble, he knows to say "Up-a" and we give his tush a little push. He rides his bike around the house and says "bike". He loves doing puzzles and when he sees he has made a mistake, he says "No no no no" to himself :) Barely comprehensible sentences are forming. I can make out "I want this" or "I want that" and a few other things, but words aren't his forte yet :)

Great progress has been made on the dog front. Ro now knows to say "daw", and Kuttu is no longer a common noun. He also has a "Pissel", so we finally have two unique dogs, just the way we thought we did. He still loves playing fetch with Pixel, and Pixel has become better about bringing the ball back to Ro instead of me. Every once in a while Ro will try to bite one of the dogs and then go "tsssss" trying to spit the fur out of his mouth. :) (Dogs are closely supervised for their protection)

Ro loves being outdoors and when we had great weather over NY weekend, we took him and the dogs out for another greenbelt romp (before it got all soggy). He just runs around looking so happy!

Of course, he likes it more so because his brothers are there with him

Right now, his grandmom is here and we are all having a great time together. The challenge for this month is to see if we can get him to nap on his big-boy bed. So far, my one attempt was a failure. I hope to have better news by the time I write a 21 month update.
