Tony the Butterfly

A few weeks ago, our cutesy caterpillar decided to chubby up, pupate and spread his wings. This has been one of the most fascinating "science projects" Ro and I have done together.

Shortly after pupating. 

Notice the wing pattern already showing on the shell in the picture above. The very last day before he broke out of the chrysalis, you could see it turning brown on the inside. I was worried he was dying, but he was only changing into his final color.
