Ro: Mom, how is your mini going faster than that SUV?
Me: On very curvy roads small cars can go a lot faster. SUVs are too tall and they might fall over.
Ro, with the delight of comprehension: Oh! So even if the SUV is a faster car (bigger engine), it cannot go faster. Or it will fall over and hit a plant.
Me: That's right. (Smartly not elaborating on details of crashing into trees and hillsides and posts)
Ro: And they might roll into a cactus! And get covered with prickly thorns! That is so ouchie, mom.
Forget crumple zones. We should be replacing all those roll bars with blankets to ward off cactus thorns!
And a pic of the cutie.
